Strides, from Goals LLC, is a flexible goal and habit tracker with a loyal following: 4.8 stars from 19,162 ratings on the US App Store. It handles more kinds of goal than most apps, from a yes-or-no habit to a number you want to reach by a certain date.
The most common reason to look for a Strides alternative is simple. It is on Apple devices, and its website still offers Android users a waitlist. Everything below was checked on the US App Store and the Strides website on 13 September 2026.
What Strides does well
- Four tracker types. Habits, targets with a pace line, averages over any period, and projects with milestones.
- Templates. More than 150 to start from, or build your own SMART goal in three steps.
- Reports. Every goal and habit in one progress report, with streaks, success rates, calendars and line charts.
- Accountability. Invite partners to see how you are doing on the goals you choose, or work toward a goal together. The Strides website says this needs iCloud and is on Apple devices only for now.
What Strides costs today
Strides is free to download and its App Store listing calls it free forever. Strides Plus is a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. It unlocks unlimited trackers, sync between iPhone, iPad and Mac, tags and filters, the Today list, data export and goal notes.
The US App Store lists Strides Plus purchases at prices from $4.99 to $149.99 and labels every one of them simply “Strides Plus”, so check the plan inside the app to see which price is which.
How Reveal the Dream is different
Strides measures a goal in numbers. Reveal the Dream shows it as a picture. Choose a photo of what you are working toward, pick a journey of 7 or 30 days, and the photo starts covered in one piece per day. Each check-in uncovers one piece, in the app, on a home screen widget and on your watch.
A missed day leaves its piece covered and changes nothing else, so there is no success rate dropping in the corner. You still see the gap in the finished photo, and the rest of the picture fills in around it.
It already runs where Strides does not: Android and Wear OS on Google Play, and Windows in the Microsoft Store, alongside iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Android backs up through your own Google account, and Premium keeps journeys in step between Apple, Android and Windows.

When to pick which
Stay with Strides if your goals are numbers, such as pages read, dollars saved or an average to hold, and you want reports across many of them on Apple devices.
Try Reveal the Dream if you are on Android today, if you want the same goal on a Windows PC, or if a picture of the finish line would keep you going longer than a chart. The free version has no time limit, and Premium adds several journeys at once, custom lengths and rest days.
