A habit tracker for Wear OS, with your goal on your wrist
Most habit trackers treat the watch as a place for notifications. Reveal the Dream puts the goal itself on your Wear OS watch: a photo of the thing you are working toward, uncovered one piece for each day you check in.
How it works
On your Android phone you pick a photo and a journey of 7 or 30 days. The photo starts covered, divided into one piece per day. Each check-in uncovers one more piece, on the phone, on its home screen widget and on your watch.
Miss a day and that piece stays covered. Nothing resets, and every piece you already uncovered stays uncovered.
Three places on the watch
- The watch app. Your reveal with a check-in button. Tap it and the day is recorded through your phone, so keep the phone connected to the watch.
- A tile. Swipe to it for the photo as it stands today, without opening anything.
- A complication. Your progress on the watch face, such as 11/30, as a short number or a progress ring depending on the slot. It refreshes through the day and after each check-in.
What stays on the phone
The countdown to your next check-in is on the Android app and its widget, and you can also turn on a countdown notification in the app's Settings. The watch does not show a countdown.
Choosing a journey, changing its length and marking a missed day happen on the phone. The watch app needs the Android phone app: it is a companion and does not run on its own.
Free, and what Premium adds
The watch app, the tile and the complication are free, and so is the phone app with one journey at a time and lengths of 7 or 30 days. The watch needs Wear OS 3 or later.
Premium adds several journeys at once, custom lengths, rest days, repeating journeys and more. See Premium.
What it is good for
- Anything you already track on your wrist. Steps, a run, a swim. Hit the number and check in from the same place.
- Training blocks with rest built in. A photo of the race, three runs a week, rest days on the others. See the workout tracker page.
- Stopping something. A glance at a photo of what you are doing it for is quicker than opening an app on a hard evening.
