Finch is one of the most loved self-care apps you can install. It holds 4.9 stars from more than 750,000 ratings on the US App Store and has passed 10 million downloads on Google Play. You look after a little bird by looking after yourself: finish a small goal, and your bird gets energy to go on an adventure and comes back with a story.
Finch and Reveal the Dream both try to make showing up feel good, and they go about it very differently. This page covers what Finch offers, what it costs and where it runs, checked on the US App Store, Google Play and Finch’s own site on 14 September 2026.
What Finch does well
- Small goals. Drink some water, step outside, make your bed. Each one you check off gives your bird energy for its next adventure.
- More than a checklist. Reflection prompts and journaling, guided breathing, a mood tracker, quizzes and insights that bring them together.
- Friends. Add friends in the app and send good vibes to encourage each other.
- A little world. Dress your bird, decorate its home and join seasonal events as you build a routine.
What Finch costs today
Finch’s site says its core self-care features are free: caring for your bird, setting goals, writing reflections, sending good vibes and joining seasonal events. Finch Plus is an optional subscription that adds more reflection prompts, more emoji choices, expanded activities and timer options, and extra seasonal rewards.
The US App Store lists several Finch Plus purchases at prices from $5.99 to $69.99 and names each one simply “Finch Plus”, so check the offer in the app to see which price is which.
Where it runs
Finch’s site offers it for iOS and Android. The App Store lists it for iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision, and Google Play for phones, tablets and Chromebooks. Neither store lists a watch app.
How Reveal the Dream is different
Reveal the Dream follows one goal and shows it as a photograph. You pick a picture of what you are working toward, choose a journey of 7 or 30 days, and the photo starts covered in one piece per day. Miss a day and that piece stays covered. Everything you already uncovered stays, and the next day carries on as normal.
The photo sits where you already look: a home screen widget on iPhone, iPad and Android, a widget on the Mac, the Windows 11 Widgets Board, and the Apple Watch and Wear OS apps. It needs no account. There is no pet to look after and no shop.

When to pick which
Stay with Finch if you want gentle support across your whole day, with mood checks, journaling and breathing, and a pet that makes it feel lighter.
Try Reveal the Dream if there is one goal you are working toward and a picture of it would bring you back each day, or if you want it on a watch, a Mac or a Windows PC. The free version has no time limit, and Premium adds several journeys at once, custom lengths and rest days.
Plenty of people will do well with both: Finch for looking after yourself, and one photo for the goal.
