Vision board examples you can use today

A vision board is a picture of where you are going, kept where you will see it. Here are ten examples, from one photo on your phone to a full board on the wall, with what to put on each.

Ten examples

  1. The one-photo board. A single picture of the one goal that matters most this year. Easy to keep in view, and nothing competes with it.
  2. The travel board. The place itself, the view from the window you want to stand at, and the date you plan to go.
  3. The fitness board. An activity you want to be able to do: a hike, a race or a swim.
  4. The home board. One room exactly as you want it, or the front door of the place you plan to live.
  5. The savings board. The thing the money is for, with the amount written on it. Seeing the kitchen keeps the saving going.
  6. The career board. The desk, the studio or the stage, plus one line about what you will be doing there.
  7. The learning board. A page of the language you are learning, the instrument, or a certificate with your name on it.
  8. The sobriety board. The mornings you are after: a sunrise, a run, a family breakfast.
  9. The year board. Four to six pictures for the year ahead, one for each area that matters, and no more.
  10. The word board. One word for the year, with a single image that means it to you.

What makes an example work

The boards that keep working share three things. They are specific: one beach, one house, one race. They are few: a board with thirty pictures becomes wallpaper. And they are seen every day, which is the part most people skip. For more on choosing the pictures, see what to put on a vision board.

Keep it where you look

A board in a drawer does nothing. Put it on your lock screen, your fridge or your home screen.

Reveal the Dream turns the one-photo board into a daily habit. The photo starts covered, and each day you do the thing it stands for, one piece uncovers, on your home screen widget as well as in the app. It is free on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android, Wear OS, Windows and Linux.
