A Routinery alternative for one goal you can see

Routinery, listed on the App Store as Routine Planner, Habit Tracker, does something most habit trackers do not. It runs your routine with you: each step has its own timer, and a voice calls out what comes next. It holds 4.7 stars from 17,970 ratings on the US App Store, and 4.5 stars on Google Play, where it has passed 1 million downloads.

If your mornings fall apart between one task and the next, Routinery is built for exactly that. People look for an alternative when they want one goal in front of them, or want it on Windows. Details below were checked on the US App Store and Google Play on 28 September 2026.

What Routinery does well

  • Timed steps. A routine is broken into steps of 1 to 5 minutes, each on its own timer, and a voice reads out the next step.
  • Reminders on the weekdays and times you choose, and a home screen widget with today’s list.
  • Sharing. Share a routine with family or a friend and see how far each of you got.
  • A plant that grows for each day you keep a streak, with weekly and monthly stats.

What Routinery costs today

Routinery is free for 2 routines, with no account needed, and its App Store description says the free plan shows ads. Premium lifts the routine limit and removes the ads. The US App Store lists Routinery Premium purchases from $0.99 to $49.99, including $5.49 a month and $39.49 a year, and Google Play lists in-app purchases from $0.99 to $72.00.

Where Routinery runs

Its App Store description names iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, with no web version, and it is also on Android. There is no Windows version.

How Reveal the Dream is different

Reveal the Dream does not run a routine. You pick a photo of one goal, choose a journey of 7 or 30 days, and the photo starts covered in one piece per day. Each check-in uncovers a piece.

Miss a day and that piece stays covered. Every piece you already earned stays uncovered, and the next day carries on as normal. The missed day stays visible as a small covered patch in the finished picture, an honest record that costs you one piece and nothing more. I wrote about the reasoning in habit tracker without streaks.

It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android, Wear OS and Windows, with a widget that keeps the photo on your home screen or desktop.

The two can sit side by side: Routinery to get the morning done, and a photo of the goal that morning is for, on your home screen.

When to pick which

Stay with Routinery if starting is the hard part, you like a voice and a timer to carry you through, and you run the same routines every day.

Try Reveal the Dream if one goal matters more than a routine, if you want it on a Windows PC, or if a picture keeps you going better than a checklist. The free version has no ads and no time limit.
